This six-level system is designed around the globally recognized CEFR. Students are placed in classes that match their age and proficiency, and grow systematically through a flexible, needs-based curriculum.
Starter
CEFR A0 - A1
Builds fundamentals such as the alphabet and phonics, forming a positive first impression of English and confidence.
Beginner
CEFR A1 - A2
Introduces oneself in simple sentences, answers everyday questions, and lays the groundwork for basic communication.
Pre-Intermediate
CEFR A2 - B1

Junior Intensive English Program FAQ
We’ve gathered the questions parents and students ask most often. Select each item to view the details.
Who is this program for?
Any learner aged 7 to 18 who wants to improve their English rapidly.
What is the class schedule?
Monday–Friday (excluding public holidays), from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
How are classes organized?
Small-group classes of up to 6 students. Optional after-school 1:1 lessons can be added.
Which English skills will my child learn?
We cover all four skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—in a balanced way. The weighting is adjusted flexibly to the learner’s level and needs; our learner-centered approach is a key strength of GL Academy.
How are the placement test and homework handled?
Before the program begins, students take an online placement test (about 90 minutes) and receive a CEFR result.
Homework is assigned only within a stress-free range.
How do you assess progress?
We measure improvement based on CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) levels.
Are textbooks and materials included?
Materials are not included in the tuition and are charged separately depending on the course length.
Is lunch provided?
Lunch is not included. If you wish, you can add a Korean lunch box (RM 25 per set), or local Chinese lunch box (RM 21 per set). All the lunch options are pork free.
Is there a shuttle service? How do students commute?
We currently do not provide a shuttle service. However, we are located in the heart of Mont Kiara, about a 3-minute walk from the following accommodations:

What is your refund policy?
If you are not satisfied after the first class, notify us within 3 hours after the class ends and we will provide a 100% tuition refund. Refunds are not available after that.
